Matrices

Entering Matrices

There are two ways to enter and manipulate matrices, through the Stack and the dedicated matrix editor.

Entering Matrices On the Stack

Matrices can be entered directly onto the stack by using the [] keys to delimit the rows and coulmns, the basic format of a matix on the HP's are.

[ [ 0 0 ]
[ 1 3 ]
[ 2 3 ]]

For a 2*3 matrix
The [] keys are found abouve the * key and to enter them you use the left shift and * key. To seperate the numbers you simply use the space key where you wish to seperate the numbers.

A faster Method Of Direct Entry

A faster method of direct entery is to leave off the last two sets of backets, the calculator automatically reads the subsiqent matrix as valid and enters the delimitiing brackets in for you. This reduces some of the keystrokes to enter the matrix and makes it - a little - quicker to enter matrices.
